Jonathan Chuby, has been in Prince George for 7 years working as a physiotherapist, with a long standing passion for creative filmmaking. On a fateful prom night in 2003, dateless and cursed with two left feet, Jon picked up his camera, a few good friends and instead, set off to make his first short film. Destiny was on the phone, and it seems he had answered the call, he made his debut in Vancouver as an actor, with roles in shows like The Fringe, Smallville and the movie Hessen Affair. He continued to write and direct and after going to school to become a physiotherapist in Manitoba he found the perfect life balance for creating his own projects and putting food on the table for his family. No longer relying on random acting gigs, he was able to set his eyes on some bigger projects and has been building his audience through his Production Company “Picaroon Pictures” ever since. Now focusing on directing/producing and writing, he has built a local network of cast and crew to work alongside him. His most well known projects are “Behind the Reds” which was an official selection of the 48FILM project film festival and was shown at the Directors Guild of America in 2015. His show “Geoff and the Ninja,” placed in the top 15 of ComedyCoup’s nationwide competition in 2014 and in 2017, won Telus Storyhive’s biggest grant to date.
